Salu Art

Located in the industrial outskirts of Osborne Park W.A (minutes away from our Gallery in Mount Hawthorn), our studio is where we create our work and custom made orders.

Our designs are hand drawn from observation or imagination and transferred to various types of stencil materials by hand cutting, ink brush or drawing techniques. Our silk screens are then prepared for use.
Salu art uses non toxic, industrial water based screen printing inks and paints that are eco friendly.  Paint colours are mixed to clients specifications and then go through a material testing process for quality, colour and consistency. Each artwork is created to meet our customer’s requirements, using traditional hand screen printing processes. This allows us flexibility with regard to design composition and design placement. Layer upon layer is then constructed and can be applied to a variety of fabrics that offer interesting textural finishes and exciting colour palettes to work with.
After curing our printed textiles, we apply a commercial grade fabric/upholstery protective agent to ensure the quality and longevity of the finished product.  For art work panels, we make most of our frames to size at our studio with local (treated) pine. For more exotic textiles such as 100% silks, we bring in (from VIC or NZ) an adjustable framing system and use different and specialised stretching techniques for various textiles.
Our Cushions, bed runners and textile drops are made in house and lampshades & pendants are constructed locally.
